Following her journalism studies in Paris, Hérade started her career as a field reporter in Russia in 1995, working as a producer for the news agency WTN which then became APTN. She covered the chaotic post-Soviet years of the Yeltsin presidency and was sent several times to Chechnya to report on the first Russian-Chechen war. She returned to Paris in 1998 to work for the APTN bureau, then joining Arte Television as a reporter. Over the years, Hérade has covered French and international news as well as several war zones such as Libya and Lebanon, and Haïti, torn by gang wars. At Arte she worked for the news edition “Arte Journal” but also for “Arte Reportage” and “Thema” and made several documentaries. Hérade became Paris bureau chief for Arte News before becoming Deputy Editor in Chief a year ago.
