William Irigoyen
Moderator, Journalist (Anchor, Reporter), Arte
About me
William Irigoyen achieved a master's degree in journalism from the Sorbonne and began working professionally in 1994. He started at the two French public service channels France 2 and France 3, then moved to Radio France Internationale and after that TV5. William joined the Franco-German channel Arte in 2001, first as a news reporter and then as an anchor. Since 2012, he has been presenting two weekly magazines: Arte Reportage (foreign news) and Thema (history and investigation). William has also produced 26- and 52-minute reports.
Alongside these activities, he is a literary critic (fiction and non-fiction) for French-language media: RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), Lire (French literary magazine), Le Monde Diplomatique (French monthly newspaper), L'Orient Littéraire (Lebanese monthly), La Cité (Swiss magazine), and France Culture (cultural French radio station). William sometimes hosts literary events in France and Luxembourg and serves on a literary jury in Switzerland. I speak French, English and German, and has been learning classical Arabic for several years. He divides his time between Paris and Strasbourg, where Arte is headquartered.
